Lindenwood Beach Volleyball Splits Matches at Beach Bear Bash, Hosts Home Opener Soon

The Lindenwood University beach volleyball team experienced a split result in matches played Saturday at the Beach Bear Bash in Ozark, Missouri. The Lions secured a 5-0 sweep over Southwest Baptist University before falling to Missouri State University with a score of 0-5.

Lindenwood’s dominant performance against Southwest Baptist saw them win all but one set. The pairing of Abby Jacobs and Annalie McWhorter faced a challenge, ultimately winning their match in three sets (21-12, 21-23, 16-14). Susanna Beretti and Gabby Belcher secured a 2-0 victory at the twos position (21-14, 21-11), while Aubrey Sheppard and Katie Bockhorst prevailed at the threes (21-9, 21-11). Lexie Schauffler and Jade Roth added another 2-0 win at the fours (21-17, 21-16). The No. 5 pair of Dixie Farish and Morgan Willis completed the sweep with a 1-0 win (21-11).

The Lions faced a tougher challenge against Missouri State, with Nyah Wilson and Susanna Beretti being the only Lindenwood duo to extend their match to three sets, ultimately losing 1-2 (18-21, 21-18, 8-15) at the ones position.

Lindenwood will return to action next weekend, hosting Eastern Illinois on Saturday, March 7th at 3:00 p.m. For their opening match of the Ohio Valley Conference season. The team will then host McKendree University at 11:00 a.m. On Sunday, March 8th, for Senior Day.
