A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a three-vehicle collision Thursday morning on North Carolina Highway 16 in Lincoln County, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. Near the intersection of NC 16 and Optimist Club Road, according to reports. The trooper’s vehicle and two other passenger vehicles sustained damage in the crash. Details regarding the extent of any injuries were not immediately available.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Collision reports are searchable online through the NCSHP website, though reports may take up to 48 hours to appear in the system, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.
