Liema Pantsi Wins Big Brother Mzansi S6 & R2 Million Prize | News & Updates
Liyema Pantsi, a 24-year-traditional artist and influencer from Qonce in the Eastern Cape, was crowned the winner of Big Brother Mzansi Season 6: Bazozwa on Sunday, March 22, 2026, securing a R2 million grand prize.
Pantsi’s victory marks a significant comeback for the returning contestant, who previously appeared on Season 4 of the reality show, S’ya Mosha. In that earlier appearance, she made a controversial decision to accept R250,000 and voluntarily exit the competition on Day 57, foregoing a chance at the grand prize. This time, she stated during the finale, “I came back to finish what I started. I owed it to myself to stay, no matter how difficult it got.”
The finale saw Pantsi defeat fellow housemate Thandeka Tshabalala, who had garnered a substantial following during the season. Pantsi ultimately received 33.84% of the total votes cast, while Tshabalala secured 29.97% in a closely contested result. Throughout the season, Pantsi focused on personal growth and building connections, avoiding unnecessary conflict, a strategy that resonated with viewers.
Pantsi’s win also included more than R3,000 in cash prizes accumulated through weekly sponsorship challenges within the house. Her journey resonated with many, including media personality Somizi Mhlongo, who publicly expressed support for her progress.
The sixth season of Big Brother Mzansi, Bazozwa, proved to be highly successful, dominating social media platforms and surpassing the performance of previous seasons. The show garnered over 5.5 million views on YouTube, and saw increased engagement on TikTok, Facebook, and X. Multichoice director of local entertainment channels, Shirley Adonisi, congratulated Pantsi, stating, “Congratulations to Liema for winning Big Brother Mzansi season 6, officially joining the Big Brother Mzansi winners ‘Hall of Fame’.” Adonisi also acknowledged the contributions of all the housemates, stating they were “all winners in South Africans’ eyes.”
Following her win, Pantsi expressed gratitude to her supporters on Instagram, reflecting on her journey and thanking those who had supported her from the beginning. She indicated her intention to pursue her artistic endeavors and leverage the platform gained from the show, stating, “I am coming for everything.”
