Highly anticipated LEGO sets based on iconic Pokémon characters launched today, February 27, 2026, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. The sets – featuring Pikachu, Eevee, and a larger build of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise – are now available for purchase exclusively at the LEGO Store, following a pre-order period that saw high demand.
The most substantial of the three releases is the LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard & Blastoise set (72153), priced at $649.99. Comprising 6,838 pieces, the set depicts the fully evolved forms of the original Kanto region starter Pokémon posed within detailed dioramas representing their preferred environments: a jungle for Venusaur, a volcano for Charizard, and a beach for Blastoise. The figures are also designed to be removed from the bases for individual display and posing, evoking classic battle stances, according to LEGO.
Pre-orders for the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set quickly sold out, indicating strong consumer interest. LEGO has indicated that the set is now available again, but cautioned that supplies may be limited.
For fans seeking more affordable options, LEGO also released a set featuring Eevee (72151) for $59.99, containing 587 pieces, and a Pikachu and Poké Ball set (72152) for $199.99, with 2,050 pieces. The Pikachu set allows builders to choose between constructing the Pokémon with either a male or female tail.
The launch of these LEGO Pokémon sets is part of a broader celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Other commemorative events include a special edition of Time magazine featuring three different covers, a 30th anniversary Pokémon Trading Card Game collection, and the release of 1,025 new anniversary logos.
LEGO also announced an Insiders reward – a Mini Pokémon Center (40911) – available for 2,500 points.
Beyond these initial releases, LEGO has plans to introduce a series of playsets with “Smart Play” functionality later in the year. The current sets are targeted towards adults, designated as 18+ builds.
