Legia Warsaw begins preparations for match against Lech Poznań
Ruben Vinagre returned to full training at the Książenice training center on Tuesday as Legia Warsaw began preparations for their upcoming Ekstraklasa match against Lech Poznań, legia.net reported.
Training Ground Returns and Squad Status
The Portuguese defender participated fully in Tuesday’s session after missing recent fixtures against Wisła and Cracovia due to an injury. Vinagre stated after the workout that he feels good and everything is in order. According to the team’s training updates, both Vinagre and Paweł Wszołek are expected to be available for selection by head coach Marek Papszuna for Sunday’s fixture at Łazienkowska, barring any unforeseen setbacks.
The squad returned to the training pitch following a Sunday warmup and a scheduled day off on Monday, shifting focus immediately to the weekend clash. Tuesday’s session at LTC featured heavy tactical work, high-intensity small-area games, and congested traffic drills. Defensive units saw strong performances from Kamil Piątkowski, Rafał Augustyniak, and Zoran Arsenić, while Damian Szymański proved difficult to bypass in midfield. Michal Sevcik, Bartosz Kapustka, and Wahan Biczachczjan showed well in the final third during creative and finishing phases. Shinnosuke Fukuda continued integrating with the squad and staff, showing promising attacking traits while adapting to the physical demands of the Polish league’s defensive phases.
Lech Poznań Leads Legia Before Weekend Clash
Lech Poznań heads into the weekend fixture occupying second place in the Ekstraklasa table with 25 points from ten matches, holding a one-point lead over Legia while having played one game fewer, as reported by sport.tvp.pl. The Poznań side arrives in Warsaw following a 6-1 victory over Korona Kielce. Meanwhile, Przegląd Sportowy noted that Legia sits in second position with 23 or 24 points following a 1-1 draw against Cracovia, where Sebastian Madejski scored or assisted.
Coach Papszuna outlined the tactical approach for the upcoming fixture, emphasizing match control and transition phases. Speaking to Sport1.pl, Papszuna noted that the team aims to protect an ongoing unbeaten run across all competitions, particularly building on a strong sequence of home victories at Stadion Legii.

Several youth players continued training alongside the senior squad, including Erik Mikanowicz, Filip Przybyłko, Mateusz Lauryn, and Franciszek Stępniewski, alongside goalkeepers Otto Hindrich, Ivan Brkić, Jan Bienduga, and Denis Stoliarenko.
Legia will continue daily training sessions through the week ahead of Sunday’s kickoff.
