The Society for the Rule of Law, a non-profit organization focused on constitutional principles, is accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2026 legal internships in Washington, D.C. The internship is offered as a hybrid or remote position, requiring a minimum commitment of two days per week during the relevant academic semesters.
Founded to address what its leaders describe as threats to the rule of law and American democracy, the organization aims to cultivate a network of legal professionals committed to preserving the Constitution. According to the organization, its function centers on community building, educational opportunities and providing commentary on current legal issues.
The Society for the Rule of Law is led by Executive Director Gregg Nunziata, a veteran of the conservative legal movement and former Chief Nominations Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The organization’s board includes retired Judge J. Michael Luttig and former Rep. Barbara Comstock, alongside former Justice Department appointees and White House lawyers.
Intern responsibilities will include legal research, copy editing for articles, member outreach, webinar management – encompassing recording, editing, and posting – and promotion of events through email and social media. Interns will also be tasked with managing the Society’s social media presence and assisting with in-person events in the Washington D.C. Area.
The Society seeks candidates with a familiarity with the conservative legal landscape, a legal background or coursework, and a commitment to the organization’s pro-rule of law mission. Strong organizational skills and a willingness to take on diverse tasks are also considered essential.
