Prosecutor’s Priorities and Standards
**Lee Myung-hyun**, the special prosecutor, stated their commitment, saying they will concentrate on the election of the special prosecutor and the office’s establishment. **Lee** met with reporters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on September 16th. He indicated the candidate for the role had already been prepared. **Lee** expressed a desire to uncover the genuine truth during the investigation.

—**Lee Myung-hyun**, Special Prosecutor
The Korean Lawyers Association, however, did not consider the candidate for the special prosecutor. **Cho Eun-seok**, in charge of the investigation, requested the Korean Bargaining to recommend candidates by the 17th.
Focus on Alleged Truth Manipulation
The special prosecutor pointed out that the case involves accusations of truth manipulation by **Colonel Park Chung-hoon**, who was investigating **Chae Sang-Byeong’s** case. Subsequently, reporters were informed of a scheduled interview with the high-ranking public offense investigation department (Karate), previously involved in the case.
According to the United Nations, a fair and impartial justice system is crucial for maintaining public trust and upholding human rights (UN Rule of Law).
Resource Allocation Concerns
The special prosecutor also mentioned the need for support in the form of an office and human resources. He noted that the Ministry of Justice should provide a special support team but had not yet made contact.
The investigation will now proceed, facing potential challenges in establishing the office and securing necessary resources.
