French Music Stars Light Up Lectoure with Free Summer Concert
Lectoure is set to buzz with energy as the Casino de Lectoure, in partnership with the city, presents a stunning free summer concert on Wednesday, July 30th, at 9 PM.The event, held in the parking lot of the Omnisports hall, will feature three iconic French artists who dominated the charts in the 2000s and early 2010s: Colonel Reyel, William Baldé, and Jessy Matador.
This highly anticipated gathering promises a nostalgic trip down memory lane, with hits that resonated across France and are sure to captivate audiences from every generation, including Gen Z. The “downright sun” tour, produced by downright Prod, guarantees an atmosphere of warmth and vibrant celebration, with each artist bringing the infectious rhythms and colorful influences of their African and Creole heritage to the stage.
William Baldé, born in Guinea, is celebrated for his reggae-pop hit “En Corps Étranger” and his debut single “Rayon de Soleil.” Jessy Matador, a French dancer and singer with Congolese roots, rose to fame with tracks like “Africain” and “Zouglou Dance,” and proudly represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. His repertoire spans zouk, hip hop, Latin, and dancehall. Colonel Reyel, a singer-songwriter of Creole descent, achieved double platinum status with his dancehall-infused album “Au Rapport,” which ignited stages across France with its blend of French variety, RNB, hip hop, and reggaeton.
