Makeup Artist Leco van Zadelhoff Finds Solace in Memories of Late Husband Rob
Amsterdam,Netherlands - Renowned makeup artist Leco van Zadelhoff is opening up about teh loss of his husband,Rob,who passed away at the age of 57. In a recent appearance on the programme The Box, van Zadelhoff spoke candidly about the 20-year relationship and the enduring impact Rob had on his life.
While acknowledging the profound sadness of Rob’s death – “That is of course much too young,” van zadelhoff stated – he also expressed relief that his suffering was over. ”You can then be a kind of happy for someone that death is there,” he shared.
The couple shared a daughter, robbie, conceived with the help of two donors, whom van Zadelhoff describes as “the most beautiful gift I have ever received in my life.” He credits their daughter as a key element in maintaining the strong bond he still feels with Rob.
Van Zadelhoff is choosing to be private about the specifics of Rob’s passing, explaining, “I do that a bit for Robbie.” He noted they quickly realized Rob was unwell,and during that time,he found himself reflecting on their many shared memories.
“he is one of the most vital parts that I am now who I am,” van Zadelhoff affirmed, describing Rob as “an important player” in his life. He recalled meeting Rob when he was “young and very naive,” and how Rob broadened his horizons with knowledge of art and culture. “I got a lot from him that in the end I was to be who I am now.”
Even after Rob’s death, van Zadelhoff feels his presence strongly. He keeps Rob’s belongings, including artwork, around his home, saying, ”That breathes his skin.” He adds, “Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him, just through the things around us.”
