Legal complaints have been lodged in Lebanon against prominent Hezbollah figures, alleging they have jeopardized the nation’s safety and put citizens’ lives at risk. These actions reflect a growing defiance against the group’s influence.

Parliamentarian Files Suit Against Regional Leader

Parliamentarian **Sami Jumblatt**, a member of the Christian Phalangist party, has submitted a lawsuit targeting **Faisal Shukr**, identified as Hezbollah’s head of the Bekaa region. The charges include incitement to murder, violence, and sectarian strife, alongside endangering Lebanon’s security and territorial integrity.

Top Hezbollah Official Accused of Threatening National Policy

Lawyers, journalists, and activists have also filed complaints against Hezbollah Secretary-General **Naim Qassem**. These actions stem from his public endorsements of Iran during the Israel-Iran conflict. Plaintiffs contend that **Qassem’s** statements constitute a direct threat to state policy, encouraging rebellion and posing a danger to Lebanese citizens.

While these legal challenges may not immediately trigger judicial proceedings, they signify a crucial shift, breaking a pervasive climate of fear that has historically deterred citizens from pursuing such grievances.

Southern Residents Sue Over Weapons Storage

Residents from southern Lebanon have also initiated legal action against Hezbollah. They accuse the organization of storing missiles, weapons, and ammunition beneath residential buildings and near civilian areas. The complaints also cite the undisclosed digging of tunnels under homes, which have subsequently led to Israeli strikes on these locations.

A legal source indicated that many attorneys have refused to represent these plaintiffs, fearing harassment from individuals associated with Hezbollah. This has compelled the complainants to file their cases independently.

Some plaintiffs have also reported business thefts by unidentified individuals, attributing these incidents to Hezbollah’s control over the regions where their enterprises are situated.
