LCCC Wilkes-Barre Enrollment Surpasses 500 Students

LCCC Wilkes-Barre Center Reaches Enrollment Milestone

WILKES-BARRE – Luzerne​ County Community ⁢College’s wilkes-Barre Center began the fall semester with a significant achievement: surpassing 500 students enrolled for the⁢ frist time in its ⁣history. A total of 524 students are attending in-person classes at the downtown location, according to Adam Blannard, center ⁤Director.

The Center is experiencing ample growth, reporting a 17% increase in student ⁢headcount adn​ a 21% increase⁢ in credits taken compared to Fall 2024.

“This is one of the strongest opening day turnouts we’ve ever had at the ‌Wilkes-Barre Center,” Blannard stated. “The energy here this morning⁤ was incredible. ⁣Students are eager to start their ⁤semester, and our staff is ready to support ‍them every⁢ step⁢ of the way.”

Located at ‌2 Public Square in partnership with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry,the Wilkes-Barre Center serves as a‍ key educational resource for the city.‍ It addresses the training needs of local businesses while ‌offering opportunities for high school⁤ graduates, working professionals, and lifelong learners to enhance‍ their ​skills ‌or pursue new career paths.

The Center boasts modern facilities including three ‍networked computer labs,smart classrooms equipped with⁢ advanced presentation technology,seminar rooms,and flexible 13-week class schedules. Students can choose from in-person and online‍ courses‌ in programs such as Criminal Justice, Human Services, Legal Assisting (Paralegal), Social Work, and General Studies. Dual enrollment options are available for ⁢high school students, ⁣and students from other colleges can⁢ utilize the Center to complete​ general education requirements.

The Wilkes-barre Center also houses the Adult learners’ Training and Assistance (ALTA) Program, which has provided free educational services – including GED⁢ readiness, English as a Second Language, family Literacy, and Digital Literacy – to adult learners sence 1987.
