Lawyer Antonella Daleno probed in bankruptcy rigging inquiry expanding to Foggia
Judicial Inquiry Into Barletta Lawyer Expands Toward Foggia Over Alleged Bankruptcy Rigging
“Avendo rinunciato ai vari incarichi,” scrive il gip nell’ordinanza citata dalla Gazzetta, Daleno, insieme al marito e ad altre persone riconducibili alla Camera di commercio, avrebbe continuato a operare “dietro le quinte”. This dynamic underpins a growing financial and legal investigation that now threatens to cross territorial boundaries into Foggia and Bari.
The unfolding probe, coordinated by prosecutors Marco Gambardella and Francesco Tosto following an initial report by the Trani bankruptcy chancery director, centers on roughly 200,000 euros allegedly missing from seven bankruptcy proceedings. The Guardia di Finanza conducted the underlying inquiry, which investigators say uncovered systemic assignment irregularities via the Bari Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber of Commerce Scrutiny and Behind-the-Scenes Management
Investigators are closely reviewing at least thirty crisis-management appointments secured by Daleno through the Bari Chamber of Commerce. The prosecution alleges that Salvatore Liso used internal institutional relationships to channel profitable files toward his wife. These assignments faced intense internal scrutiny following August 2024, when the deficit within the bankruptcy estates reportedly came to light.

While formal resignations from the roles were tendered alongside considerations of disbarment, intercepted communications allegedly paint a contradictory picture. These overlapping assignments, where substantial fee installments remained uncollected, form the basis for potential jurisdictional file transfers to the public prosecutor’s offices in both Bari and Foggia.
The scope of the judicial measures extends beyond the primary couple. Attorney Francesco Romanello Pomes faces a six-month interdiction, alongside a three-month interdiction for notary Francesca Paola Napoletano and a six-month suspension for Ignazio Portoghese, an official at the Bari Revenue Agency. Ban-of-residence orders were issued for Giuliana Liso and her husband Domenico Eugenio Di Camillo regarding Andria, as well as for Rosaria Daleno concerning Barletta. Charges range from embezzlement and corruption to ideological falsehood in public documents and fraudulent tax evasion.
Defense Claims Asset Sales Repaid Bankruptcy Administrators
Daleno previously admitted during questioning two years ago to unauthorized withdrawals from the contested bankruptcy accounts. The defense maintains that the couple systematically sold off personal assets in recent years to repay the incoming bankruptcy administrators, directly contesting the prosecution’s theory that property transactions were designed solely to evade tax authorities and creditors.
Meanwhile, the potential expansion of the inquiry toward Foggia depends on whether ongoing evaluations prompt official case transmissions. The specific files tied to the Daunian territory remain unassigned to explicit public dockets in the current reporting, leaving the institutional fallout dependent on the next phase of judicial review.
