Latvian Skiing: Eiduka & Saulītis Compete – Results & Schedule
Latvian distance skier Patrīcija Eiduka finished 19th in a World Cup sprint race in Italy on Saturday, qualifying for the elimination rounds. According to Latvian news outlet LSM.lv, Eiduka was 11.73 seconds behind the winner.
Eiduka’s qualification came after she posted the 27th-fastest time in the sprint qualification round, completing the 1.5-kilometer course in two minutes and 58.19 seconds, as reported by sportazinas.com. She was 10.93 seconds slower than Sweden’s Jonna Sundling, who won the qualification.
The elimination rounds, which will feature the 30 fastest skiers, are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM Latvian time.
In the men’s competition, Latvian skiers Niks Saulītis and Dāvis Kalniņš will compete in the sprint qualification on Saturday, according to LSM.lv.
The World Cup stage will conclude on Sunday with a 20-kilometer freestyle race with a mass start, beginning at 6:30 PM Latvian time.
Niks Saulītis has previously competed in the Skandinavian Cup, debuting in Vuokati, Finland in December 2017, and participated in the 2019 Junior World Championships in Lahti, according to a biography on Vikipēdija. He likewise competed in the 2026 Olympic Games, and has participated in three World Championships (2021, 2023, 2025). He debuted in the World Cup in Ruka, Finland in November 2022.
