Latvia Weather: Dry Tuesday with Sun & Temperatures up to 13°C
Latvia experienced unusually mild temperatures on Saturday, with local heat records broken in several regions, according to forecasts. While most of the country will see dry conditions today, with occasional sunshine breaking through the clouds, a small amount of rain is expected in parts of Kurzeme later in the evening.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre reports that temperatures reached 13.9°C in Mērsrags and 14.9°C in Bauska and Jēkabpils on Saturday, matching and exceeding the local record for March 23rd. However, the national record for the date, set in Daugavpils in 2007 at 17.7°C, remained unbroken.
Today, a moderate southwesterly wind will prevail across Latvia, with gusts reaching 10–12 meters per second in some areas. Maximum air temperatures are expected to range between 9 and 13°C, though coastal areas may see temperatures around 7°C.
In Riga, partly cloudy skies are forecast, with no rain expected. A moderate southwesterly wind will be present, and the maximum temperature is anticipated to be around 12°C.
Over the weekend, strong winds primarily impacted Riga, according to reports from LSM.
Looking ahead, frosts are expected to intensify on Thursday, according to Inbox.lv.
