Las Vegas Cheesesteak Eating Contest & $10 Deals at Pride of Philly Steaks
Las Vegas cheesesteak restaurant Pride of Philly Steaks (POPS) is preparing to host its third annual cheesesteak eating competition this Saturday, March 21st, on its patio. The event, coinciding with National Cheesesteak Day, will feature approximately two dozen competitors vying to consume a two-foot-long cheesesteak in the shortest amount of time.
The winner of the competition will receive free cheesesteaks for an entire year, according to a statement released by KSNV. The contest is intended to celebrate the restaurant and its loyal customer base.
POPS recently completed renovations to its property, with updates including refreshed signage, new digital menu boards, updated outdoor flooring, new furniture, and a redesigned Benjamin Franklin mural. The renovated patio will also be the site of a special promotion on Tuesday, March 24th, offering $10 cheesesteaks from 10 a.m. To 10 p.m.
The restaurant, located at 501 S. Decatur Blvd., operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Recent reports indicate the restaurant is showcasing these improvements to the local community, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The upcoming competition follows a period of growth for the establishment, which has become a local favorite. The restaurant is also preparing for increased foot traffic as the city hosts other events, including a Luke Combs concert at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, where an estimated 70,000 people are expected to attend despite an extreme heat warning.
