Lao Huo Tang F&B Faces Final Adjournment Over $39,121 Arrears

Lao Huo Tang F&B, associated with the popular herbal soup restaurant chain operating at locations such as Causeway Point, Sun Plaza, Jurong Point, Marina Square, The Star Vista, and NEX, accumulated $39,121 in unpaid CPF contributions for June, July, and August. The prosecution informed the State Courts on Sept 29 that the firm had previously paid a $1,600 composition amount but failed to meet an earlier direction to clear at least $22,000 toward its balance. Although a company representative requested an additional four weeks and offered a partial payment of $13,000 during that window, the prosecution highlighted that $25,986 remained outstanding specifically for June and July. The court granted a final adjournment to Oct 27, directing the company to settle the $25,986 balance before the next mention. Two other entities, Lao Huo Tang Group and Lao Huo Tang Restaurant, are scheduled to appear in the same court on Oct 6. Lao Huo Tang declined to comment when approached by The Straits Times.

Kenny Rogers F&B and Marina Square Outlet Address Arrears

Simultaneously, two companies operating Kenny Rogers restaurants addressed outstanding CPF obligations during the Sept 29 hearings. Kenny Rogers F&B, listed on Lao Huo Tang Group’s website as part of its family of brands and operating outlets at Downtown East, Marina Square, and The Clementi Mall, accrued $25,294 in CPF arrears for June, July, and August. Previously under the same ownership as Lao Huo Tang Group through Soup Empire Holdings, Kenny Rogers F&B is now wholly owned by Hong Meng Loong, who also serves as company secretary for Lao Huo Tang F&B. Having paid a $3,000 composition amount but missing an earlier direction to pay $13,000, a company representative stated that the firm should be able to clear the remaining $25,294 within four weeks. The judge designated Oct 27 as the final adjournment for the case, warning that the court will proceed to take the company’s plea if arrears remain unsettled. In a separate matter, Kenny Rogers (Marina Square) paid $7,156 toward its June-to-August CPF arrears, leaving $2,236 outstanding for August. With two prior adjournments and an unpaid $3,000 composition amount, the judge ordered the firm to clear both the remaining contributions and the composition sum before the Oct 27 hearing. Kenny Rogers (Marina Square) faced a separate case involving the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore on Sept 29 for failing to meet a required 2026 filing deadline. Although the filing has since been submitted, a $2,000 composition sum remains unpaid, resulting in an adjournment to Oct 27.
