Landon Fandel: Sioux Falls Freshman Shines in Augie Hockey Season
Landon Fandel, a Sioux Falls native, completed a successful freshman season with the Augustana University men’s hockey team, according to reports published March 23, 2026.
Fandel, who turned 20 in May 2025, is the first player from Sioux Falls to compete for the Augustana hockey program. Over the course of the 2025-2026 season, he registered 15 goals and 18 assists in 108 games played, according to team statistics. He is a defenseman, standing at 5’10” and weighing 185 lbs.
A December 7, 2025 game against Bemidji State saw Fandel score a goal, a moment he described as one he had “been waiting for his entire life,” as reported by uscho.com. The game took place at Midco Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Fandel is the son of John and Marta Fandel and has two siblings, Dylan and Kaiden. He plans to major in business administration while attending Augustana. His hobbies include golf, spending time with his family, and visiting the lake.
Elite Prospects currently lists Fandel’s contract as not up to date.
