Lam Dong Hospital Transfers Obstetrics And Pediatrics To New Facility

Lam Dong Hospital Transfers Obstetrics And Pediatrics To New Facility

October 11, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

Lam Dong General Hospital will stop accepting obstetrics and pediatrics patients at its current facilities on October 21st, transferring the entire patient load and department infrastructure to the Lam Dong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, news.laodong.vn reported.

    Key Clinical Takeaways:

  • Lam Dong General Hospital is transferring its 95-bed obstetrics and 25-bed pediatrics departments to a dedicated specialized facility starting October 21st.
  • The relocation involves shifting medical staff, machinery, and equipment to the Lam Dong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to concentrate clinical resources for maternal and child healthcare.
  • Patients seeking care for women, mothers, and children must direct their visits to the new separate facility rather than the provincial general hospital.

Transfer of Obstetrics and Pediatrics Departments Scheduled for October 21st

The operational shift stems from an official announcement made by Lam Dong General Hospital on October 10th. Under the plan, the hospital’s Obstetrics Department—housing 95 beds—and its Pediatrics Department—housing 25 beds—will completely relocate their operations, physicians, and nurses to the separate specialized hospital.

Lam Dong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital was established under Decision No. 1245/QD-UBND, issued on June 12th, 2025, by the People’s Committee of Lam Dong province. The facility was formed through the original merger of the Provincial General Hospital’s Obstetrics and Pediatrics Department into the existing Lam Dong Children’s Hospital.

Lam Dong Children's Hospital Expands Capacity and Infrastructure

Lam Dong Children’s Hospital originally opened on June 1st, 2017, with a modest operational scale of 60 beds. Over nearly a decade of service, patient volume caused the hospital’s scale to expand to 120 beds, though inpatient counts occasionally exceeded physical reception capacity.

To accommodate the influx of two major clinical departments, the facility underwent extensive infrastructure renovations. Staff arranged physical spaces, relocated heavy machinery from the Provincial General Hospital, and supplemented necessary diagnostic and treatment equipment.

Hospital Plans New Specialized Area for Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Tran Xuan Hoa, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, stated that the facility expects to invest in constructing an additional specialized obstetrics and gynecology area in the coming year to meet rising regional medical demand. The hospital transfer aims to concentrate professional resources and elevate the overall quality of care for women, mothers, and children across the province.

Patients requiring obstetrics and pediatrics examinations must update their destination and visit the correct standalone facility starting October 21st.
