Lakers Waive Jemison, Eyeing Dixon for Two-Way Spot

Roster Shake-up Continues as Club Reconfigures Depth

The Los Angeles Lakers are continuing to adjust their roster, with the latest move seeing the departure of center **Trey Jemison III** from his two-way contract. This decision signals a shift in the team’s back-of-the-bench strategy.

Jemison’s Lakers Stint Concludes

**Jemison**, who signed a two-year two-way deal in January, played 22 games for the Lakers. The 25-year-old center posted averages of 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds, shooting 61.9% from the field during his tenure. He has appeared in 63 NBA games overall, with 10 starts.

The Lakers may look to replace **Jemison**’s spot with **Eric Dixon**. The Villanova standout led college basketball in scoring for the 2024-25 season, averaging 23.3 points per game.

Reports suggest the Lakers had agreed to a two-way deal with **Dixon**, an undrafted free agent signing following the June draft, though this has not been officially confirmed.

**Dixon**’s opportunity may now be imminent, as **Jemison** prepares to seek new opportunities elsewhere.

In related news, the Lakers recently missed out on veteran point guard **Chris Paul**, who opted to join another team in free agency.

The NBA’s average team payroll for the 2024-25 season is projected to be over $170 million, highlighting the significant financial commitments involved in roster construction. (ESPN)
