LAFC Fan Spits on Woman During MLS Rivalry Match
An LAFC supporter spat on a female fan’s head during a volatile 2-2 Major League Soccer draw between LAFC and the LA Galaxy on Sunday, instantly turning social media outrage into widespread demands for a lifetime stadium ban.
A Heated Los Angeles Derby Marred by Stands Violence
Four goals lit up the pitch during the fierce rivalry match. Yet the most explosive flashpoint happened far away from the goals, erupting directly in the stadium seating.
A photographer posting under the Instagram handle @stpierre uploaded multiple video clips documenting the confrontation. The footage captures an escalating argument between supporters of the two Los Angeles clubs.
The initial recording reveals two male LAFC fans trading sharp words with a man and a woman sitting directly ahead of them. Mid-exchange, one of the male LAFC fans mouths the phrase “stupid b****” toward the opposing group.
The Shocking Moment Captured on Camera
Moments later, the man leans down and spits directly onto the head of the female supporter before pulling back into his upright seat. The camera catches the woman absorbing the shock of the act for several seconds.
She turns sharply to confront the individual who spat on her just as the video cuts off.
The photographer captioned the initial upload bluntly: “F** nasty a spitting on a woman over a team.”
Digital Backlash and Demands for Accountability
The footage tore across digital platforms within hours, igniting an immediate wave of online detective work as soccer fans mobilized to identify the perpetrator.
Community response across networks was absolute condemnation. One LAFC supporter wrote, “Disgusting. Ban him for life,” while another user stated, “This is beyond repulsive. I hope they find him and press those charges.”
Banter Crossed With Criminal Assault
The severity of the offense triggered sharp rebukes from observers across the sport. One commentator noted, “Spitting on someone over an MLS game is crazy work.”
Another user added, “Trash behaviour. Ban that bum for life! One thing is banter, other is full on assault/battery.”
Ultimately, the toxic off-field incident completely eclipsed the competitive 2-2 scoreline played out between the city’s two rival franchises.
