mbappé declared fit to Start Against Azerbaijan After ankle Concern
Clairefontaine, France – Kylian Mbappé has been confirmed fit to start Friday’s match against Azerbaijan, allaying concerns stemming from a recent ankle injury. The Real Madrid striker declared his readiness to play at a press conference Thursday,stating,”I want to play,the coach wants me to play,I think there will be no problem.” He further emphasized his focus on continuing preparations for the World Cup, adding, “I have no particular concerns and I intend to continue the path towards the World Cup.”
Mbappé, who has scored 16 goals across all competitions this season, had been training on the sidelines until Wednesday due to the ankle issue. France manager Didier Deschamps echoed Mbappé’s optimism, noting the forward followed the planned recovery program. “It’s more his sensitivity in relation to his ankle… If all goes well, he will be involved tomorrow,” Deschamps said.
Mbappé will be supported in attack by Hugo Ekitike, making his first start, and Kingsley Coman. Michael Olise is expected to feature as playmaker. The midfield will consist of Adrien Rabiot and Kephren Thuram, filling in for the unavailable Aurélien Tchouameni.
The defense will see Malo Gusto preferred to Jules Koundé, with Théo Hernandez at left-back and Dayot Upamecano and william Saliba forming the central defensive pairing.
