Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Hitsujibungaku & Otoboke Beaver to Perform at matsuri ’26 London
Hitsujibungaku, Kyary Pamyu, and Otoboke Beaver are set to perform at matsuri ’26: Japanese Music Experience in London. The showcase will take place on December 14, 2026, at Outernet Live. Presented by CEIPA and the Toyota Group “Music Way Project,” the event marks the festival’s first European expansion.
A Multi-Genre Showcase for Global Expansion
The matsuri ’26 event arrives as an initiative to drive the globalization and sustainable growth of Japanese music. Billboard reported that the initiative, launched by the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA) and the Toyota Group, aims to build a sustainable path for Japanese music globalization. Following the inaugural showcase in Los Angeles in March 2025, which featured Ado, Atarashii Gakko!, and Yoasobi, the London edition represents the series’ second installment. A third event is already scheduled for Bangkok in February 2027. The lineup for the London show highlights the diverse stylistic range of the current Japanese music scene. The bill pairs alternative rock band Hitsujibungaku with J-pop icon Kyary Pamyu and the punk quartet Otoboke Beaver. This variety serves as a deliberate departure from presenting a singular “Japanese sound,” instead emphasizing the breadth of the country’s contemporary exports.

Hitsujibungaku and Kyary Pamyu Bring International Success
Each artist on the bill brings a distinct track record of international performance and commercial success. Hitsujibungaku, noted for their contribution to the Jujutsu Kaisen anime soundtrack, has reached 200 million streams worldwide for their track “more than words.” The London performance will be the band’s first UK show since the 2025 release of their fifth album, Don’t Laugh It Off. Kyary Pamyu enters the London date ahead of a planned 2027 album release. Her career includes five world tours and a 2022 appearance at Coachella. She expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative nature of the lineup, stating, “I’m especially looking forward to sharing the stage this time with such a wonderfully diverse group of Japanese female artists, each with their own unique character and style.”
Rounding out the bill, Otoboke Beaver maintains a high-profile touring schedule that included six UK and European dates supporting the Foo Fighters in 2026. The band noted their anticipation for the London date, stating, “We’re traveling all the way to London especially for this event, and we look forward to seeing everyone there. See you under the mirror ball!”
Logistics and Industry Integration
The event at Outernet Live is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 14. Tickets will be available to the general public starting November 6 at 10 a.m. GMT, following a Live Nation presale on November 5. Beyond the concert, the organizers have prioritized industry networking. A professional mixer titled “tsudoi” will take place on the same day, co-hosted with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
