The Seattle Kraken extended the contracts of forwards Ben Meyers and Ryan Winterton on Tuesday, securing both players for two additional seasons, the team announced.

Meyers’ latest deal is valued at $2 million, averaging $1 million per season, while Winterton’s contract is worth $2.25 million, or $1.125 million annually. The announcements come as the Kraken prepare to resume play after a three-week break.

Meyers, 27, began the 2025-26 season with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Coachella Valley Firebirds but quickly established himself as a regular contributor to the Kraken. In 31 National Hockey League (NHL) games this season, he has recorded 11 points, including five goals and six assists. “Ben is an integral part of our team. He is versatile and plays with passion. We are happy to have him under contract for two more years,” said Kraken CEO Jason Botterill in a team statement.

Winterton, 22, has also made a significant impact in his first full season with Seattle. Through 54 games, the young forward has accumulated 15 points, with three goals and 12 assists. Botterill praised Winterton’s development, stating, “Ryan has made good progress this season. He was able to find a role for himself on this team with his speed and play in every zone.”

The Kraken currently hold third place in the Pacific Division with a record of 27-20-9. They are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, February 25th, against the Dallas Stars at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The game will be broadcast on FOX4, KHN/Prime, KING 5, Victory+, and KONG.
