Korean Embassy hosts reception for National Day and 31st anniversary
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s residence in Cairo to mark Korea’s National Day and the 31st anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Approximately 400 guests attended the gathering, which was organised as part of the K-Initiative to showcase Korean culture through institutional cooperation.
Egyptian Officials Join Diplomatic Corps for National Day Reception
Hussein Eissa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, attended the Cairo celebration as the guest of honour. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, also joined the event alongside senior Egyptian government officials, prominent political and economic figures, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Students from the Korean Language Department at Ain Shams University performed Samulnori during the evening programme. Egypt’s national Taekwondo team delivered demonstrations featuring board-breaking performances to mark the occasion.
K-Beauty Pavilion Highlights Bilateral Commercial Ties
A special K-Beauty pavilion was organised at the residence in cooperation with the Korea-Africa Foundation to highlight growing interest in Korean culture among Egyptians. Five Korean cosmetics companies participated in the exhibition: Bephor, K-style hub, Youth O’ Clock, Dermanique, and WBI (Welbiz International Limited).
Korean biotechnology company NXbiomed and SOME, a company operating a Korean skincare products store in Egypt, also participated in the showcase.
Bilateral Relations Enter a New Phase Across Politics and Economy
Kim Wan-Joong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt, stated during the celebration that relations between the two nations have recently entered a new phase of transition across political, economic, and cultural fields. He expressed his hope that Korea and Egypt would continue working together to strengthen cooperation for regional peace and stability while contributing to global issues.
Ambassador Kim noted that such cooperation is grounded in Korea’s vision of acting as a constructive contributor, a framework presented by President Lee Jae-Myung during his participation in this year’s United Nations General Assembly.
