October 17, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

The 15th 2026 Korea Integrative Medicine Expo opened in Jangheung on October 15, bringing artificial intelligence health checks and integrated medical programs to six distinct exhibition and experience zones through October 18, according to The CEN News. Jointly hosted by Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City and Jangheung County, the event highlights regional health and healing initiatives under the banner of integrated medical technology.

AI Devices and Six Pavilions Feature at Jangheung Expo

Operating under the theme “A step for health, a first step in Jangheung!”, this year marks the first expo held since the launch of the integrated metropolitan administration. The exhibition floor spans six specific areas: a theme pavilion, an integrative medicine pavilion, a wellness healing pavilion, a health industry tech pavilion, a health promotion pavilion, and a health food pavilion. Visitors can interact with AI health check mirrors and futuristic media facades inside the theme pavilion, while the health industry tech pavilion showcases advanced AI medical devices alongside wellness products.

Additional programming features specialized integrative medical consultations, healing and health beauty therapies, slow-aging programs, and regional health promotion exhibits. The opening ceremony on October 15 drew approximately 100 attendees, including Park Jong-pil, the Integrated Metropolitan City’s citizens’ health bureau director, National Assembly member Moon Geum-ju, and Jangheung County Mayor Sa Soon-moon. Park Jong-pil stated that the expo aims to give citizens direct access to advanced health services and encourage sustainable lifestyle habits, as reported by The CEN News.

Regional Teams Compete in Physical Activity Contest

The main stage hosted the 2026 Health Promotion Physical Activity Contest on October 16, drawing 452 participants divided into 22 regional teams. Competitors performed health gymnastics, line dancing, and lifestyle routines tailored to local community programs. The contest evaluates participants through document reviews of community resource linkages and field assessments focusing on creativity and performance execution, culminating in awards ranging from grand prizes to encouraging recognitions.
