Korea & Company Group Champions Disabled Athletes & Employment with National Competition & Decade-Long Initiative
Incheon, South Korea – korea & Company Group is demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity and teh empowerment of individuals with disabilities through both a national wheelchair basketball competition and a decade-long employment initiative. The company will sponsor the Wheelchair Basketball Championship, taking place November 28-30 at the Incheon National Gymnasium, offering a total prize pool of up to 5 million won and awards recognizing outstanding players.
This sponsorship exemplifies Chairman Cho Hyun-beom’s “win-win with the social care class” ideology, aiming to provide opportunities for challenge and contribute to the advancement of physical education for the disabled. Beyond athletics, Korea & Company Group’s dedication extends to creating lasting employment opportunities, highlighted by the success of Korea Circle Partners.
Established in 2015, Korea Circle Partners was the first standard for the disabled in the domestic tire industry, fostering a stable working environment and independence. The programme has grown into a “workplace of hope” employing approximately 160 people – both with and without disabilities – across five business areas: laundry, bakery, cafe, car wash, and office management.
In 2023, Korea Circle Partners received both a pylon medal and a presidential commendation from the Ministry of Employment and Labor for its contributions to expanding employment opportunities and social participation for people with disabilities.
