Koh-Lanta Star Stéphane Bertheau Dies – Marylène Bergmann Pays Tribute

news-lead">Stéphane Bertheau, a contestant from the inaugural season of the French reality show “Koh-Lanta,” has passed away at the age of 48. Bertheau was also recognized for his contributions too the audiovisual industry, including work on popular French television programs.

Bertheau’s career extended beyond his appearance on “Koh-Lanta.” He was a contributor to Christine bravo’s show “Union Libre” and later joined the production company Endemol at the behest of Alexia Laroche-Joubert. According to le Parisien, Bertheau was involved behind the scenes in productions such as “Morandini!,” “salut les Terriens!,” and “La Nouvelle Star.” He also held the position of artistic director at C8.

His professional experience also included roles at France 3 and TPS Star. In Belgium, Bertheau co-hosted two prime-time programs, “S’il vous plaît” and “C’est pas tout à fait ça,” alongside Marylène Bergmann for RTL-TVI in the mid-2000s. Fabrice Staal, editor-in-chief of the magazine Zenior and a notable figure in Belgian television history, recalled Bertheau’s work with RTL-TVI.

Marylène Bergmann, a prominent host on RTL-TVI, paid tribute to Bertheau on her Instagram account, describing him as someone who “leaves a luminous trace, a breath of eternal benevolence,” which she noted is rare in the media industry.
