The conversation regarding a boxing rematch began when Kim Sae-rom discussed the operational difficulties of running a content channel. She explained that changing production companies frequently made finding a suitable match as difficult as finding a husband. Broadcaster Park Miso responded that spouses require mutual adjustment over time, while Kim Gura advised her to lower expectations and focus on immediate ideas. Kim Gura subsequently suggested that Kim Sae-rom pursue a boxing rematch against Jo Hye-ryon.
In response to the suggestion, Kim Sae-rom revealed that she had already returned to boxing training and noted that public reaction was positive. The program then aired archival footage from a 2006 MBC Chuseok special program titled My Fist Cries, showing Kim Shin-young with a bloody nose and Kim Sae-rom fainting during their respective bouts.
Looking Back at the 2006 Chuseok Special Bout
During the 2006 broadcast of My Fist Cries, Kim Sae-rom competed against Jo Hye-ryon. As a former supermodel standing 176 centimeters tall, Kim Sae-rom had expressed confidence before the match. However, a punch from Jo Hye-ryon resulted in a knockout, leading to Kim Sae-rom being carried out of the ring. Subsequent medical examinations confirmed she sustained no injuries.
Reflecting on the archival footage, Kim Sae-rom noted that she has discussed the incident for two decades. She added that Jo Hye-ryon had fought earnestly during the match and later expressed deep remorse over the knockout. Despite the past outcome, Kim Sae-rom smiled and thanked Kim Gura for the revenge content proposal. Viewers responded to the broadcast with humor online, noting that Jo Hye-ryon would likely remain undefeated in a potential rematch.
