Honduran Midfielder Arriaga Battles Lingering Knee Discomfort Following Real Madrid Match; Coach Calero Optimistic
Following Real España’s recent match against Real Madrid, midfielder Kervin arriaga is experiencing continued discomfort in his left knee, according to coach Julián Calero. Speaking to journalist José Claros of ICN Sports in the mixed zone after the game, calero revealed Arriaga is dealing with lingering issues even after recovering from a previous injury.
“He has discomfort that does not end up taking off when we have managed to cure an injury, he is also coming the discomfort in the grude patellar,” Calero stated.Further tests are scheduled to determine the extent of the issue, but Calero expressed hope it isn’t serious, noting arriaga didn’t require substitution during the match.
Calero also highlighted Arriaga’s dedication and eagerness to return to peak form, acknowledging the recovery process has been slower than anticipated. “He goes slowly, more slowly than I wanted and more slowly, above all, of what he wanted, but hey, it is indeed a very strong guy and in the end he will go ahead,” the coach said.
Arriaga arrived at Real España already recovering from an injury sustained during the Gold Cup, having been sidelined for approximately two months. Calero emphasized Arriaga’s importance to the team’s plans, stating, “He is one of the pillars on which we wanted to base ourselves, because we wanted to give him the possibility to play in the Spanish First Division. I no him very well, I know of the ability he has and we wanted it to be a support there to help us a lot.”
