A surprising result in Kecskemét saw BVSC-Zugló defeat Kecskeméti TE 2-0 in the 18th round of the Merkantil Bank Liga on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The match, played at the Széktói Stadion, concluded with a goal in added time from Balázs Farkas, sealing the victory for the visitors.

Adrián Dénes opened the scoring for BVSC-Zugló in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a chance after receiving the ball on the left side and skillfully maneuvering past defenders to find the back of the net. Kecskemét struggled to respond, with their attack failing to trouble Petroff in goal during the first half.

Kecskeméti TE manager Tímár Krisztián made substitutions at halftime, bringing on Derekas for Haris and Czékus for Nistor, in an attempt to revitalize the team’s performance. Though, these changes proved insufficient to break down the organized defense of BVSC-Zugló.

The home side’s difficulties were compounded in the 79th minute when Szűcs Szilárd received a red card, leaving Kecskemét to play the remainder of the match with ten men. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Kecskemét nearly equalized late in the game, with Szabó Alex’s header being cleared off the goal line.

BVSC-Zugló then secured the win in the second minute of added time when Farkas Balázs scored, extending their lead to 2-0. The final score reflected a dominant performance by the visitors, who effectively contained Kecskemét’s attack and capitalized on their opportunities.

The match was officiated by Gábor Iványi, with Dániel Szabó and Gyula Punyi serving as assistant referees. A total of 763 spectators attended the game at the Széktói Stadion.

BVSC-Zugló’s victory places them currently 6th in the NB II standings, while Kecskeméti TE occupies the 8th position. The result comes after Kecskemét lost to Vasas in a previous round and BVSC-Zugló had collected four points in the spring season leading up to this match.
