Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR: Bloodlines Vol 2 – Comic Review & Plot Details

Keanu Reeves, known for roles in films like “The Matrix” and “John Wick,” is expanding his creative footprint into the world of comics with the ongoing success of “BRZRKR.” The latest installment, “BRZRKR: Blutlinien 2,” recently released by Cross Cult, delves into the protagonist’s extensive and violent past.

The comic series, which debuted in 2021, quickly became a standout success in the contemporary comic landscape. “Blutlinien 2” presents two distinct narratives exploring B.’s history. “Das verlorene Buch” depicts the half-god engaging in bloodshed alongside Genghis Khan, while “Für einen Kopf voll Kugeln” places him within the context of the American Civil War. The series is characterized by its explicit violence, with the amoral protagonist, B., grappling with the consequences of endless conflict.

While the stories are described as quick-paced, some critics suggest the series may be losing some of its initial originality. However, the narrative arc could also be interpreted as B. Searching for a moral compass amidst the chaos.

The release of “BRZRKR” has also spurred development of adaptations for other media. According to Deadline, Netflix is developing both a live-action film and an anime series based on the comic, with Reeves set to star. Justin Lin, known for his work on the “Fast & Furious” franchise, is directing the film adaptation, as reported by Moviefone and Punch Drunk Critics.

“BRZRKR: Blutlinien 2” is a 112-page volume published by Cross Cult, priced at 20.60 Euros.
