Kate Daub Named Acting Town Administrator of Berlin

Kate Daub Named Acting Town Administrator of Berlin

October 14, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Kate Daub has been named acting town administrator for Berlin, taking over day-to-day municipal operations as the town prepares to fill the position following the retirement of Mary Bohlen.

Transition of municipal leadership in Berlin

Daub steps into the role after serving as the town’s associate town administrator. Her career with Berlin began in 2022 when she joined the municipal staff as an administrative assistant. During that same year, she joined both the Maryland Municipal Clerks Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Her municipal responsibilities expanded in 2024 with a promotion to special projects administrator. She advanced to associate town administrator in July 2026.

Academic and professional credentials accompany her rise through municipal departments. Daub graduated from Salisbury University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. In July 2026, she completed the Maryland Certified Public Manager Program through the Schaefer Center for Public Policy at the University of Baltimore.

Mayor Zack Tyndall on administrative continuity

Berlin Mayor Zack Tyndall highlighted Daub’s operational background as the town manages the administrative handoff.

Kate has demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and a strong commitment to serving the Berlin community. Her experience across multiple areas of municipal operations and her dedication to continuous improvement make her well prepared to support the Town during this transition. I look forward to working with her as we move through the recruitment process for the next Town Administrator.

Daub emphasized continuity for local departments and residents while town leaders organize the search for a permanent administrator.

I appreciate the confidence placed in me and am committed to supporting our staff, our departments, and our community throughout this transition. It is an honor to serve Berlin, and I will work to ensure that day‑to‑day operations continue smoothly as the Town prepares for its next chapter.

The town has not announced a timeline for selecting a permanent town administrator.
