Family and Friends Remember Karen Bodine at Annual Vigil
Olympia, WA – On January 22nd, family and friends gathered near Olympia to hold a vigil marking 19 years as the remains of Karen Bodine were discovered. The annual event serves as a poignant reminder of the unsolved case and a continued plea for justice.
Karen Bodine was reported missing in January 2007. Her remains were found near Olympia on January 22,2008. The case quickly drew attention, and despite extensive investigations by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, it remains open.
Each year, Bodine’s loved ones return to the area where she was found to remember her life and renew their call for details. The vigil isn’t just about mourning; it’s about keeping Karen’s memory alive and ensuring the inquiry doesn’t fade from public consciousness. Family members ofen share stories and memories of Karen, celebrating the person she was.
“It’s been 19 years, and the pain doesn’t lessen,” said a family spokesperson during the vigil. “We need anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Karen deserves justice, and our family deserves closure.”
