Karate Juvenil: Venezuela at the Pan American Championship

Asunción, Paraguay – A Venezuelan karate‌ team is preparing to compete in the Pan-American⁤ Youth ‍Karate Championship, commencing this Thursday, August 28th, and concluding on August 31st at the SND Arena in Asunción. The delegation ⁢represents⁢ one of 25 nations participating in the event, and is the fifth largest in terms of‌ athlete representation.

The Venezuelan⁤ roster ‌includes rising stars gianluca Greco, a gold medalist​ from the 2024 Bolivarian youth Games‌ in Sucre, Bolivia, and José Antonio Molina, who‌ secured gold medals at both the South American Championships ‌in Brazil⁢ and the ⁤Central American Championships in ‍Colombia earlier this year.

The championship ⁤will showcase⁢ the continent’s top young karate practitioners.Competition ‍begins with the Kata individual feminine divisions for under-12‌ and under-14 age groups, followed by individual Kumite events⁤ ranging from -37 kg to +47kg.

Cadet-level athletes will compete on Friday, August 29th. The event will culminate with male ⁤Kumite categories, spanning from -55kg to +76 kg.

The Venezuelan team was selected following a national qualifying tournament held on July 21, 2025. Athletes​ were chosen in each category and discipline – Kata ‌and Kumite – ⁤to represent Venezuela at this continental competition.
