Kanye West Concert: Tickets, Controversy & Return to Europe

A surge in demand crashed ticketing websites Thursday as pre-sale access began for the first European performance by Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, in over a decade. The concert, scheduled for June 6 at the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands, prompted hundreds of thousands of fans to attempt access to the pre-sale, overwhelming the Weeztix platform and causing significant delays, according to reports from Dutch media outlets AD.nl and NL Times.

The pre-sale, which began at 10:00 AM Central European Time, offered fans who registered through official channels an early opportunity to purchase tickets before the general sale scheduled for Friday. However, many users reported being stuck in virtual waiting rooms for hours, with the system repeatedly freezing or failing to load. J.Noah Live, the concert organizer, acknowledged the technical difficulties and urged fans to remain patient.

The announcement of the Netherlands concert, made on February 10, marks Ye’s return to the European stage after a 12-year hiatus. We see also his first performance in the Netherlands since 2013. A second European date has been scheduled for July 18 in Reggio Emilia, Italy, according to NME. The GelreDome, a 41,000-capacity stadium with a retractable roof, is expected to host a performance described by organizers as “a rare and unmissable moment for Ye’s fans,” and “not a standard concert,” echoing the atmosphere of his 2012 performance at the same venue.

The concert announcement has been met with controversy, given Ye’s recent history of antisemitic remarks and provocative statements. The Dutch anti-discrimination center, NUK, has publicly stated that Ye “does not deserve a stage in the Netherlands” due to his past comments, as reported by NL Times. Arnhem Mayor Marcouch acknowledged the concerns but defended the decision to allow the concert to proceed, stating, as reported by De Gelderlander, that while he found the situation “how disgusting,” there was “no reason for a ban.”

Despite the controversy, demand for tickets remains exceptionally high. J.Noah Live has warned that tickets are limited and expects extremely high demand, advising fans to purchase only through official channels – namely, www.yenetherlands.com. The concert will feature a large-scale production and immersive visual experience, consistent with Ye’s previous performances, according to J.Noah Live.

Following a period focused on “listening parties” for his recent album series, Vultures, the 2026 dates are being promoted as full live concerts. As of Thursday afternoon, the Weeztix website remained unstable, and the status of the pre-sale remained uncertain.
