Kampar Vice Regent Drives HIV–AIDS & Narcotics Prevention with Community Socialization
RANAH SUNGKAI,Kampar Regency – Vice Regent Misharti spearheaded a collaborative socialization effort between teh Kampar Regency National AIDS Commission (KPA) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNK) today,focusing on the dangers of HIV-AIDS and drug abuse within the community. The event, held in Ranah Sungkai Village, brought together local leaders, educators, and residents for direct instruction from experts in the field.
Speakers included Dr. Wildan Asfan Hasibuan from the KPA of Riau Province, Dr. Alimora of the Kampar District health Office, and Adi Jondri with Airo Azli from BNK kampar, who presented data on the risks associated with both HIV-AIDS and narcotics.
Misharti, who also chairs both the KPA and BNK Kampar, emphasized the critical role of community members as information conduits. “We must do this socialization so that all can become agents who say that drugs and HIV-AIDS are very perilous for us,” she stated, expressing hope that the activity would reduce transmission rates and drug abuse in the region.
The initiative received enthusiastic support from local officials. Muhammad Yusuf, Head of Ranah Sungkai Village, lauded the KPA’s efforts, stating the socialization provided “education and direction, especially for young people to stay away from drugs.” He expressed hope for the continuation of similar programs.
Mursal, Head of MTs Sheikh Yusuf Zahidi Ranah Sungkai, echoed this sentiment, noting the value of the material presented to students and praising the Vice Regent’s attendance. He urged the KPA and BNK Kampar to “continue to intensify similar activities in various regions,” believing enduring education is key to reducing drug abuse and preventing HIV-AIDS transmission.
As a exhibition of support for education, Misharti presented mts sheikh Yusuf Zahidi Ranah Sungkai with Rp5 million in aid during the event. The socialization drew a positive response from attendees, with 5 visitors recorded as of this report.
