Kakao to Launch Closed Beta Test for AI Crew Advertising Agent Next Month
Kakao to Launch AI Crew Beta Next Month
Kakao will initiate a private beta test for its AI agent, “AI Crew,” next month. The service is designed to assist advertisers in executing and managing their campaigns. During the company’s third-quarter earnings call on the 5th, Kakao CEO Chung Shin-a confirmed the rollout, marking a strategic push to monetize AI-driven advertising capabilities.
The Tech TL;DR:
- AI Crew functions as a conversational interface where advertisers input business objectives; the AI then suggests suitable ad products and operational strategies.
- The system supports the process from ad product recommendation and setup to performance analysis.
- Kakao plans to build a “common memory infrastructure” by the first quarter of next year to allow its AI to understand user behavior, preferences, and experience.
Automating Ad Operations for Advertisers
AI Crew is intended to help advertisers less familiar with ad operations execute advertising more easily and efficiently. CEO Chung said the tool aims to raise operational efficiency for existing advertisers while also bringing in new advertisers and expanding ad execution.
Kakao also plans to advance its AI-based ad recommendation technology and improve its existing machine-learning-based recommendation and targeting technology. The common memory infrastructure is intended to let the AI understand and use user behavior, preferences, and experience.
Kakao Aims to Boost Revenue with AI Advertising
Kakao expects that once its AI advertising service becomes established, it will help expand revenue. Chung said that from next year, the company aims to show improvements in advertising efficiency and new monetization opportunities through AI leading to actual revenue growth.
