Justo & Midón Reach Tigre Challenger Final – ATP Rankings Rise

Guido Justo of Argentina advanced to the final of the ATP Challenger 50 tournament in Tigre on Saturday, upsetting second-seeded Gonzalo Bueno of Peru in a three-set match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. The victory marks a career milestone for Justo, who is currently ranked 311th and will climb to the Top 300 if he wins the final.

Bueno, who had defeated Andrea Collarini in the quarterfinals, took the first set with a score of 6-4, but Justo rallied, demonstrating resilience and overpowering his opponent in the subsequent sets. The match was played at the Club Náutico Hacoaj in Tigre, Buenos Aires.

In the other semifinal, Lautaro Midón of Argentina defeated Carlos Sánchez Jover of Spain 6-4, 7-5. Midón, the fifth seed, is seeking his first Challenger title, having previously fallen in finals in Temuco and Santa Fe in 2025. His win secures a career-high ranking of 215th, placing him on the verge of the Top 200.

Midón and Justo have faced each other twice previously, with Midón winning both encounters. Their first match was in the semifinals of a M15 tournament in Olavarría in 2023, and the second was in the quarterfinals of a M25 tournament in Mar del Plata in 2025.

This tournament will guarantee a second title for Argentine tennis in 2026 at the Challenger level, following Camilo Ugo Carabelli’s victory in Rosario.
