METAIRIE,La.– The New Orleans saints are bringing in veteran kicker Justin Tucker for a tryout, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports. This marks Tucker’s first possibility with a team since becoming eligible for reinstatement by the NFL on Nov. 11 following a 10-week suspension.
The Saints are evaluating Tucker as their current kicker, Blake Grupe, has struggled with consistency this season, missing eight field goal attempts and posting a league-worst 69.2% conversion rate among kickers with at least 20 attempts. Tucker’s tryout comes amid the Saints’ push for a playoff berth and signals a potential move to bolster their special teams.
Tucker was suspended for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 NFL season due to violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The Ravens released him in May after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving 16 massage therapists in the Baltimore area between 2012 and 2016; Tucker has denied the allegations.
The 36-year-old spent 13 seasons with the ravens after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He is a five-time first-team All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler. While he led the league in field goal accuracy in 2021,his percentage dipped to a career-low 73.3% in his final season with Baltimore.
