Julia Fox Reveals $70K Shopping Spree Funded by Ex-Boyfriend’s Credit Card
Julia Fox disclosed she once embarked on a nearly $70,000 designer shopping spree using the credit card of a former partner, later returning the items after the relationship ended. The revelation surfaced as part of a broader discussion about the pressures she felt too conform to male expectations and her subsequent regrets regarding cosmetic surgery.
Fox, who previously dated Kanye West and was married to private pilot Peter Artemiev with whom she shares a 4-year-old son, Valentino, detailed the incident as an example of seeking validation thru material possessions. She explained she felt compelled to present a certain image to attract and maintain male attention, leading to the “manic” spending. “I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive,” Fox told Allure magazine in august.
The actress and model came out as a lesbian in July 2024, later clarifying to Allure that she “could be attracted to anyone and anything,” but physically prefers the female form.She also expressed regret over past plastic surgery procedures, including a rhinoplasty, liposuction, and veneers, undertaken to appeal to the male gaze. “Now,when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything…I wish I could go back and be that person,” she said.
Fox was previously married to artemiev for less than two years, splitting in 2020. Her brief romance with West made headlines in 2022.
