Jordan Brown uncertain if Mark Allen will play Northern Ireland Open
Former World No. 1 snooker player Mark Allen has not played a competitive match since May following his World Championship semi-final loss, prompting public concern from fellow professional Jordan Brown ahead of the Northern Ireland Open.
Allen Misses Multiple Tournaments for Personal Reasons
Since that tournament concluded, Allen has been entirely absent from the World Snooker Tour. His missed events include the English Open, the British Open, the Wuhan Open, and the China Open. Tournaments have attributed his prolonged absence to undisclosed personal reasons.
Jordan Brown Expresses Uncertainty over Allen's Return
Fellow Northern Irish snooker star Jordan Brown addressed Allen’s status in an interview with Metro, revealing that he frequently checks in on his compatriot. While confirming that Allen is doing okay, Brown admitted uncertainty regarding whether Allen will return in time for the upcoming Northern Ireland Open.

I can’t really comment too much on it, but all I do know is he is doing okay. I’ve been checking in on him. I honestly don’t know if he’s going to play or not. If he does play it will be great for the local crowd. It’ll be great to see him back playing, we all want to see him back. Personally I miss him. I worry about him because he’s one of my best friends. We all hope to see him back soon and playing the game that he loves because he’s a great player and a great guy.
Impact on the Northern Ireland Open and Local Crowds
The World Snooker Tour returns this month with the Northern Ireland Open, a home event where Brown is scheduled to compete. Organizers and local fans face uncertainty over whether Allen will make an appearance to bolster the tournament’s regional appeal. Brown noted that Allen’s return would provide a significant boost to the local crowd, though his participation remains unconfirmed as the event approaches.
