John Patrick Day, a 53-year-old resident of Brewer, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2026. His sudden absence has left family members both near and far deeply shocked and saddened.

Born in Sanford, Maine, on October 16, 1972, he was the son of Patrick and Helen (Emery) Day. Early in life, he developed a passion for culinary arts and ultimately graduated from a culinary arts program. That early training led to a career working as a chef at the Holiday Inn for several years.

Later, Day transitioned into the construction industry. An injury eventually prompted him to take an early retirement from that work. Friends and family remember him as a person with a big personality, characterized by an infectious laugh and a joyful outlook. He was known to be the life of the party and could make friends anywhere he went.

Day was predeceased by his mother, Helen Day, his father, Patrick Day, and his stepmother, Patricia Day. He is survived by his children, Jonathan Day and Brandon Day, along with his former partner, Tracy Benn. He also leaves behind his siblings—Melissa Prevatt and her husband Todd, Becky Day, Steven Cabana, Shelley Seavey and her husband Allan, Dawn Day, and Scott McLaughlin—as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
