Joe Rogan: Nate Diaz-Mike Perry Fight Could Net Diaz $10M+ on Netflix MVP
Podcast host Joe Rogan has claimed that Nate Diaz is set to earn in excess of $10 million for his upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) fight against Mike Perry, scheduled for May 16, 2026. The bout will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and is part of a high-profile fight card promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and streamed live on Netflix.
The fight marks Diaz’s return to the cage after nearly four years, his last MMA contest being a submission victory over Tony Ferguson in September 2022. Since then, Diaz has ventured into boxing, including a bout against Jake Paul in 2023 and a win over Jorge Masvidal in 2024. This Netflix event represents his first MMA fight outside of the UFC in approximately two decades.
Perry, known for his aggressive fighting style, has also publicly embraced the potential for pre-fight altercations, stating he is open to a brawl with Diaz’s team if it occurs before their scheduled match, with the stipulation that his wife not be targeted. “Trust me, I’m going to play the game,” Perry stated, according to reports. “We going to get violent, and if he wants to jump me with his boys, I’m here for it.”
The event, which will be available to Netflix’s 325+ million subscribers at no additional cost, also features a highly anticipated rematch between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, as well as a heavyweight contest between Francis Ngannou and Philipe Lins. This marks Netflix’s first foray into live MMA broadcasting, building on a growing partnership with MVP, which has previously focused on boxing events.
Diaz expressed his enthusiasm for the return to competition, stating, “Glad to be back in action. It’s time.” He also indicated his intention to continue fighting for the next decade, aiming to “set the bar again” and initiate a “new takeover.”
