Marlon Jackson is helping develop and narrate an eight-part docusereries titled The Manager, The Mythology, The Legend, focusing on the legacy of his father, Joe Jackson, for the streaming platform BLK Prime. According to a post shared by The Jacksons on Instagram, the upcoming program examines the man who guided the family from Gary, Indiana, to global pop music stardom.

The project arrives as public focus returns to the complex history of the Jackson family patriarch following the release of the cinematic feature Michael. While the film and historical record highlight Joe Jackson’s role in engineering the extraordinary trajectories of the Jackson 5 and later launching Janet Jackson into the entertainment industry, they also spotlight longstanding allegations of physical and emotional abuse. Joe Jackson consistently denied many of those accusations while acknowledging that he employed strict discipline during his children’s upbringing.

Per a statement shared with Page Six by Marlon Jackson, the series intends to provide an unvarnished, intimate look at the family’s foundational years.
