Jiří Procházka Officially Signs to Face Undefeated Navajo Stirling at UFC Qatar
UFC officials announced on September 29, that Jiří Procházka will face Navajo Stirling in a five-round light heavyweight main event at a UFC Fight Night event in Qatar on November 21, 2026, though Procházka did not sign his bout agreement until days after the promotion made the pairing public.
Late Contract Signing Follows Early Announcement
Procházka shared a photograph over the weekend showing him actively signing the paperwork for the contest. Today it is finally signed, the Czech fighter stated, adding that he entered a new training phase with a focused mindset. Procházka noted that he began the preparation with a killer mode that he will unleash at the right time, thanking his family, friends, and team for starting this new chapter and stating that while the path to his goal changes sometimes, the goal itself remains the same.
Weighing the Risk of an Undefeated Challenger
Procházka’s team acknowledged that facing Stirling presents a distinct competitive hazard. Speaking to Sport.cz, coach Kamil Karaivanov explained that negotiations for a bout with Brazilian fighter Paulo Costa collapsed after Costa initially agreed to the match and subsequently denied it publicly. With another potential opponent, Magomed Ankalaev, carrying scheduling uncertainties, and a prospective October date in Salt Lake City rejected due to high altitude and insufficient preparation time, the team accepted the Qatar assignment. Karaivanov also noted that preparation is taking place at the SuperPro Samui camp in Thailand, chosen because it makes securing quality sparring partners significantly easier.
Stirling carries an 11–0 professional record and trains out of City Kickboxing, the same gym as Carlos Ulberg, who handed Procházka a knockout loss in April. Karaivanov described Stirling as a younger, hungrier athlete with a similar physical build to Ulberg who possesses nothing to lose. The team analyzed Stirling’s fights with new striking coach Danny de Vries and found gaps in his style. Karaivanov recalled that Procházka’s previous bout against Ulberg featured one of the best opening rounds the team has experienced in the UFC before things turned, stressing that danger is always present regardless of how a fight develops.
Contasting Perspectives on the Division Hierarchy
Promoter Ondřej Novotný offered a starkly different outlook on the matchup, telling Top-Fight.cz that he views Procházka as a clear favorite due to a vast gap in the caliber of past opponents. Opening betting odds positioned Procházka as the favorite with prices hovering around 1.65 to 1.70, while Stirling drew support at just above 2.00.
Neither camp is treating the bout as an automatic pathway to a title eliminator, with Karaivanov emphasizing that future division dynamics will only be evaluated after the Qatar main event concludes. The card takes place at the ABHA Arena in Doha.
