Jimuel Pacquiao Fights to Majority Draw in Pro Boxing Debut
TEMECULA, CA - manny Pacquiao’s eldest son, Jimuel Pacquiao, began his professional boxing career with a majority draw against Brendan Lally on Saturday night at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California. The four-round lightweight bout saw a split decision from the judges, with one scoring the fight 39-37 in favor of Pacquiao and the other two scoring it 38-38.
The debut marks the start of a boxing journey for the younger Pacquiao, following in the footsteps of his Hall of Fame father. While acknowledging the challenge of transitioning to the professional ranks, Jimuel expressed his determination to improve. “Next time I fight, I’m going to push the pace much harder,” he said, adding, “I’m happy I was able to experience this. Fighting as an amateur is a different experience than fighting professionally. I only had ten amateur fights, so this was a huge step up.”
Manny Pacquiao was present at the event, watching his son’s first professional fight ringside. The boxing legend intends to take a more hands-on role in Jimuel’s training moving forward, aiming to secure his son’s first professional win in his next match.
“I’m very proud of my son,” Pacquiao stated. “I always told Jimuel fighting is not easy and that you need to work hard. My plan is to have him fight on my undercard so I can train with him throughout the whole camp.”
