Following unsuccessful attempts to recover the funds, the complainant filed a formal police report on August 22, 2025. Investigators subsequently upgraded Ruben’s status from a reported party to a suspect for alleged fraud and embezzlement. Court and police schedules noted that a scheduled police interrogation was postponed, with Ruben’s representatives expressing a preference for pursuing mediation.
