Veteran Leadership Arrives
Forward Jonathan Toews is set to return for his 17th NHL season, signing a one-year deal with his hometown team. The Jets’ plans for their forward corps were complicated by the news that captain Adam Lowry underwent hip surgery on May 27. The center is projected to miss the start of the season, with an estimated recovery timeline of five to six months. This absence will likely increase the importance of new acquisitions like Pearson in providing depth.
