‘America’s Got Talent’ Crowns Jessica Sanchez as Season 20 Winner
Los Angeles, CA – Jessica Sanchez was named the winner of “America’s got Talent” Season 20 Tuesday night, securing the top spot after a performance of “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. the victory follows Sanchez receiving Sofía Vergara’s Golden Buzzer during her audition, propelling her directly to the live rounds of the competition.
The Season 20 finale captivated audiences with a diverse range of talent, but ultimately it was Sanchez’s vocal prowess that resonated most with viewers.The win marks a significant moment for the singer,who previously gained recognition as a finalist on “American Idol” in 2012. The title comes with a $1 million prize and a headlining show in Las Vegas.
Earlier in the evening, Sanchez collaborated with aerial specialists Sirca Marea for a final performance of JVKE’s “Golden Hour,” a song that initially earned her a place in the Finals. “I feel like they made the song come alive,” Sanchez told host Terry Crews following the performance. “I mean, they’re just so amazing.”
Vergara praised Sanchez’s final performance, stating, “It’s perfection…You look like a little pregnant angel. I mean you look beautiful, your voice, I’ve never heard anything like that.Bravo Jessica.”
Sanchez emerged victorious from a field of ten finalists,including Mama Duke,Micah Palace,Steve Ray Ladson,Team Recycled,Chris Turner,LightWire,Jourdan Blue,Leo High School Choir,and sirca Marea.Chris Turner, a freestyle rapper, finished in second place, while singer Jourdan Blue took third.Chicago’s Leo High School Choir placed fourth, and visual artists LightWire secured fifth position.
