Rockingham Speedway roared back to life saturday as Jesse Love seized a dramatic victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, marking the first race at the historic track as 2004. Love’s daring move on the overtime restart propelled him from third to first, securing his second win of the season and third career Xfinity triumph.
The Decisive Move
Love, piloting his No.2 Chevrolet, showcased both skill and strategy, leading for 53 laps and masterfully conserving fuel over the final 96 laps. The victory unfolded before a sold-out crowd,adding to the electrifying atmosphere of rockingham’s return.
Dash 4 cash and Runner-Up Finish
Sammy Smith, who initially held the lead, ultimately finished second after Love’s decisive overtake. Despite missing the win, Smith celebrated a significant achievement, claiming the $100,000 bonus for winning the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash.It was his first Dash 4 Cash bonus.
